Free Newsletter Templates for Corporate Use - ilker
For technical and business writers in charge of corporate and internal newsletters, these free newsletter templates can improve readability and interest.

Corporate newsletters and internal newsletters serve to inform employees, contractors and clients of changes in staff, new accounts, new procedures and more within any corporation or small business. These documents are the workhorse of the internal communications department, a constant presence but largely under appreciated. Use these free newsletter templates to improve the look, function and usability of internal newsletters to gain wider readership from your target audience.

Why Use a Newsletter Template at All?

If your weekly or monthly corporate newsletter follows the same basic pattern, a template can help to standardize the procedure and make writing and assembling this document more efficient and effective. For instance, if you work for a credit union, your sections may look like this:

  • Introduction
  • Office Closings
  • Staff Changes
  • New Computing Procedures
  • Work Events
  • Contests

Why not standardize these sections and use a drag-and-drop newsletter template? The template gives the audience a sense of what to expect, and over time getting other departments to contribute information will be easier when you ask for "New Computing Procedures" information from the marketing or engineering department. The contact person will be familiar with the term from the template.

While you may have the same sections for each edition, you also want to use a newsletter template that is flexible. If the internal communications department decides to overhaul the design, or add a new section or department, you want a template that can change as needed.

Sources for Free Newsletter Templates

Plenty of free newsletter templates are available online:

  • Templates Box - hundreds of options to choose from, or upgrade to a premium account for even more choices.
  • Microsoft Office - easy download and compatible with any Office software you already use.
  • TemplateWorkz - like Templates Box, download free newsletter templates or pay a premium to upgrade your account.

Go for colors that are as close as possible to the company logo, or that are complementary. Be conservative and use free newsletter templates with simple, clean lines that won't overwhelm the reader.

Newsletter Templates in Email Software

If you're using an email newsletter program like Constant Contact, keep in mind that you may simply be able to use an existing template within the software's features. Why complicate matters by dumping raw text into a template, then trying to import the document into an email newsletter management program?

Using a free newsletter template that already exists in newsletter management software makes sense, so before you act, do your research. The point of using a newsletter template is to make the entire creation, design, and distribution process simpler – not more complicated.
